Psalm 55:22 “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” (KJV)
In this ever-changing world,
Life has it’s uncertainties;
There are ups and downs,
Still, there is God’s promise,
And, by faith…we can procure;
While we are here…on earth,
In spite of the things we must endure.
Where would we be…without His presence,
Alone…lost and without hope;
I know…because I’ve tried it,
And, believe me…it’s impossible to cope.
Through it all…He was ALWAYS THERE,
But, you see…I didn’t know it;
The struggle within was constant,
Did I ask for His help?…not a bit!
I didn’t know He’d hear me,
I didn’t think that He would care,
For…you see…I was here,
And, He was off in Heaven…somewhere.
In time…the burden was too much,
And, I began to see my need;
I had to reach out to Him,
And, I found Him eager to intercede.
Well, this was truly wonderful,
I brought Him every little problem;
But, the BIG ones…they were just too BIG,
And, I thought they’d be unwelcome.
Thank God…there comes a time,
In each and every life;
When the problems become just too BIG,
We cannot handle all the strife.
So, we look outside ourselves,
And, we find our God is ALWAYS THERE;
In fact…He always was,
He always loved us…He truly cares.
Not just about the little things,
But, in the BIG things…too;
In every situation,
He’s eager to help us…through.
What an awesome revelation,
When…at last we can see;
That His intent was always for our good,
He desired a ‘relationship’…with you and me.
Heaven came down to earth that day,
When I invited Him in;
Of course, He was always present…waiting,
But, I felt alienated…because of my sin.
Oh, the joy that filled me,
Full…and to overflow;
When the light went on…and I did see,
All His riches…on me…His will to bestow.
And, now I thank Him…moment by moment,
For the marvelous revelation;
That the God of the universe,
Has provided that Lamb…for my pardon.
His great light shone in my heart,
And, all darkness had to flee;
The God of the universe,
Dispelled the darkness that had been in me.
Was this a one-time occurrence,
Never to be repeated?
Oh, no…for with each breath I take,
I see His love is never depleted.
The God of the whole universe,
Wants to co-habit with man,
Not to be distant…as we’d thought,
He had a much better plan.
Ask Him into your life,
Let Him live out His life…through you;
Let that light shine forth,
With the darkness gone…all things become brand-new!
