Lk. 4: 18 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."
Have you a broken heart,
Did someone stomp on you…today;
Torn in two pieces,
Shattered…left you dazed?
Or is this not so recent,
It happened long ago;
Scars you have carried…all these years,
Perhaps, longer then you know.
Still, the pain is there;
Trying not to show it,
But, it's more then you can bear.
Wanting to lash-out;
Others with so much hurt,
They have pain…throughout.
No matter what the reason,
Hurt, such hurt…Oh, yes;
Scars that go so deep inside,
How long can we…suppress?
Our whole life affected,
By big and little…pain;
When…Oh, when shall it end,
Can't live forever…with this strain.
There's One who was sent,
To heal the broken-hearted;
I've heard tell…He did it, too,
Made all things new…and finished what He started.
IN Him…a new creature,(Gal.6:15)
Old things are passed away;
The hurt we could not carry,
That pain…it cannot stay.
For, JESUS made all things new,(Rev.21:5)
The slate has been wiped clean;
Because of Him…we live again,
His Life, now…is what I mean.
No longer I who live,
But, Christ who lives within me;(Gal.2:20)
No longer looking toward the past,
Forward…is what I see.
We cannot go forward,
With our eyes upon the past;
Give Him the pain…the hurt,
In exchange for things that last.
Let Him apply the healing balm,
His Love…remove the pain;
His outstretched arms…encompass us,
Only Eternal things remain.
Our focus now is straight ahead,
No turning back for us;
We've had the worst,
Now, in our LORD…we trust.
He's bound-up the broken-hearted,
And, set "this" captive free;
Now, I'm moving forward,
Would you like to join me?!!
