Lk. 10:38 "Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, 'Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:
42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.'"

Are we as Martha,
Busy…doing good deeds;
Our time occupied by works,
By trying to fill each need?

Running here and there,
Showing how much we care;
With no time to get on our knees,
So busy…we're caught in that snare.

While all this is good,
Beneficial…Yes…to mankind;
Still, our Lord had something to say,
Words that were meant to remind.

"Mary has chosen the best,"
He proclaimed;
"To sit at My feet and to learn,
Be taught of Me", He exclaimed.

Sometimes we place temporal things first,
While, they will soon pass away;
How much better to choose the Eternal,
Temporal or Eternal…carefully weigh.

Taught by JESUS…well-equipped,
His will, now is easy to do;
So, place first things first,
Be ready and He will send you!
