Jer. 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.
13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Oftimes it's been said,
"The best is yet to be";
Sometimes we lose our focus,
And, only the "aging"…we do see.

How about the young years,
When our family was growing;
Oh, we rushed through those years,
And, on the way…did lots of groaning.

All the diapers…all the work,
And the sleepless nights;
Teething babies…sick babies,
No time to look for the delights.

How about those happy times,
The first word and first step;
The first day of school,
It gave "Mom" a bit of rest.

But, No…we cried along with them,
As off to school they went;
Thinking of what we'd lost,
Our time could have been…better spent.

Could have seen the glass half-full,
Instead of half-empty;
But, such is the way of life,
All the way from diapers…to acne!

And, those teen years,
A mixture of blessings;
On one hand…wanting them to grow-up,
The other…keeping them forever…babies.

Time rushes on…the years fly by,
And, do we take the time;
To see all that we have,
We must rush on…while we are still in our prime!

Rush on…to what?
For soon they're grown;
No tears or laughter fill the air,
And, here we sit…we're all alone.

"Empty nest"…highly over-rated,
As we sit here…with empty hands;
Why…Oh why, was there no time,
For our wives…for our husbands?

Now, plenty of time…too much time,
And, the years rush on…even faster;
Perhaps it just seems so,
Perhaps, we just move slower!

Always looking…far ahead,
Or…on things long-past;
Why cannot our focus be,
On TODAY…and make it last?

For every present moment,
Is all there really is;
Let's make the most of it,
These…our true riches.

Remember the rough times,
That you helped each other through;
The rough times that were so hard,
It took the two of you.

And, now the waning years,
They could be all down-hill;
Or…we could chose to make them,
The golden years…all a matter of our will.

We must travel down this road,
So,why not make it a joy;
Thank God, we have each other,
The rest of life…enjoy!

For the glass really is half-full,
And, let me tell you a little secret;
Not only is it so…but,
We can make it…overflowing!
