IN A PERFECT WORLD

Hebrews 11:8 “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.”
(KJV)

Why is there such unrest,
In the world…today?
Is this something new,
Or was it always this way?

Wars and rumors of war,
All around us is unrest;
The peace-makers try their hardest,
They do their very best.

Country against country,
Walls go up…divide;
Family against family,
Scattered across the countryside.

Sibling fighting sibling,
Competition at its worse;
Rather than gather together,
They fight and they disperse.

IN A PERFECT WORLD,
These things would never be;
Is this what we want,
Do we really desire unity?

IN A PERFECT WORLD,
The lion would lie down with the lamb;
Swords would be beaten into plows,
There’d be peace…across the land.

Those who had plenty…would share,
Greed…a thing of the past;
Neighbor helping neighbor,
Peace…a peace that would last.

Squabbles…they are so petty,
Why do we waste our time?
Why wallow around in the mud,
When out of the pit…we could climb?

The foolish things that cause division,
They wear us out…use up precious time;
For our days are short…at best,
Why waste our one and only lifetime?

Think of all the good that we could do,
If we laid our weapons aside;
Perhaps we could live there,
IN A PERFECT WORLD!
