Have you known love in your life,
Perhaps from your early days;
And, did that love sustain you,
Build you up…in all ways?
The love of a parent,
Causing the child to grow;
The nurturing and daily care,
Making that life to blossom…so!
There’s the love of a dear friend,
Always having your best…in mind;
Through thick and thin…they are there,
This kind of friendship…is often hard to find.
Along comes ‘Mr. Right’… ‘Miss Right’,
All of life is wonderful;
Rose-colored glasses…we put on,
And, everything looks beautiful.
Perhaps…it’s not been your experience,
Your parents…you never knew;
Or maybe they weren’t ‘there’ for you,
Their commitment not so true.
Maybe that dear friend had limits,
Or their promises they just couldn’t keep;
Maybe you just drifted apart,
It broke your heart…it made you weep.
And, ‘Mr. Right’ … ‘Miss Right’,
Whatever happened there?
When the going got tough…what happened,
Did they ever…really care?
Whatever happened along the way,
Was it really love?
Too often we add conditions,
To UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
Yes, we all have limitations,
So very finite…we;
Even with the best of intentions,
A disappointment…we can be.
We cannot live without love,
Without…all living things will die;
But, the good news is,
God offers UNCONDITIONAL LOVE…to you and I.
Thank God…that He is different,
This…we cannot deny;
For God is Love,
And, on His Love…we can rely.
Partake of His Love,
It’s free…for the asking;
He’s reaching out to all of us,
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE… Love everlasting!
