Weighted-down with your burdens,
Do you carry a heavy load;
Much more than you can endure,
As long as you live in this abode?
Our body wasn’t built,
And, certainly not our minds;
To do this juggling act,
To handle things of this kind.
We wrestle with worldly cares,
Things pile up…higher and higher;
What makes us think it can go on and on,
And, of this load…we’ll not tire?
We’re running on ‘overload’,
And, about to burn out;
Still…we stop…from time to time,
And ask, “What’s this all about?”
Our body’s getting tired,
We’re ‘wired’…and cannot sleep;
Work is good…but not too much work,
We’re in over our heads…too deep.
Nervous breakdowns…unfounded fears,
Our anxiety is climbing;
Whoa…stop…if you can,
At this pace…we can’t keep running.
Caught up…with too much to do,
On a treadmill…we have been;
Stop…Oh, stop it…please,
This rat-race must end.
Sometimes it seems to take,
A complete breakdown;
Before we come to realize,
We’re in…over our heads…soon to drown.
But wait…there’s an answer,
You know it…as well as I;
And, it’s not to do more and more,
Because…this is what we’ve tried.
And, it’s not to ‘suck it up’,
Any more…and we’ll explode;
We’re running at ‘full-throttle’,
And, we can’t carry this heavy load.
Our body and our mind,
Needs to be kept busy;
Else, we would just lay down and die,
Without any activity.
Moderation in all things,
Don’t live on ‘overload’;
Ask Father to help you,
Get your life into a healthy mode.
Let Him help you,
With the things that must be done;
Allow Him to help you…also,
To finish what you have begun.
Your body will thank you,
It’s no longer on ‘overload’;
And, your mind is at rest,
When…with Father…you have strode.
He will help you with each burden,
With each and every care;
He will carry every burden,
Your cares…He will gladly share.
