Psalm 146:1 “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.
2 While I live will I praise the LORD: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.
3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.
4 His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.
5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
7 Which executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The LORD looseth the prisoners:
8 The LORD openeth the eyes of the blind: the LORD raiseth them that are bowed down: the LORD loveth the righteous:
9 The LORD preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
10 The LORD shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the LORD.”

Are you all wound-up;
Tighter than a rubber band;
Rushing all around,
Still……you cannot stand?

So much is happening…all around you,
And, it will wear you out;
You try to fix everything,
You’ll burned-out…without a doubt.

Everything depends upon you,
There’s nobody who can it do better;
They’re tired of competing with you,
So now…you’re the only player.

You brought it all upon yourself,
Now, where to go from here?
You’re heading towards disaster,
And, all the things you've feared.

Super Mom…Super Dad,
And, maybe Super Christian…too;
How long do you think you can go on,
Doing everything to perfection…as you do?

Let’s face it…only One is Perfect,
And, it’s neither you…nor I;
Burning the candle at both ends,
And, nothing’s left…Oh me…Oh my!

Such a sorry state we are in,
A trembling bundle of nerves;
For we can’t continue at this speed,
We’ll burn-out all our reserves.

Something must be done,
And…very, very quickly;
This time-bomb is set to go off,
The explosion won’t be very pretty.

For myself…I’m getting tired,
This juggling act…too much for me;
I have reached my inner limits,
And, I cry out…“Oh please!”

“Please help me…LORD,
I’m in distress…I need you so;
I’ve reached the end of my rope,
There’s nowhere else I can go.”

“Let go!”…is the response,
But, dare I just let go?
What would others think about me,
My ‘best side’…I like to show?

Alas, my ‘best side’ is not too pretty,
The ‘real me’…they just might see;
For, I find that I’m no better,
Than all those around me.

Great surprise to me…for sure,
But, I think they knew it all along;
The façade I wore so proudly,
Let me down…and I was wrong.

“Let go!”…is not giving up,
It’s asking for help along the way;
Admitting I have limitations,
No matter what I used to say.

Let’s take it one step farther,
A lesson I have learned;
I cannot do it all myself,
To Another…I must turn.

Perhaps you’ve heard that said;
The words are true…I have found,
Not just words that we have read.

For when we truly do “Let go”,
And then, we…“Let God”…instead;
There is rest…a peace inside,
We don’t rush on…we wait for Him to go ahead!
