MEMORIES……fond MEMORIES,
Silver threads among the gold;
Looking back…upon a lifetime,
Once we were young…now…old.
All the years together,
Where…Oh, where did they go?
The good times and the bad times,
Causing us…together…to grow.
So many things…experiences,
All our MEMORIES were shared;
We leaned on each other,
Showing how very much we cared.
Together…life’s sorrows were halved,
And, its joys…were doubled;
We grew up…together,
Grew…when we were troubled.
Still…it wasn’t always so,
We had a lot to learn;
How to get from where we were,
To where our hearts did yearn.
We learned most things the hard way,
Trial and error…as we went;
Still…the love was there,
In spite of all the sleepless nights we spent.
Looking back…upon the years,
Fifty……Yes, fifty in all;
The bad times fade…throughout the years,
And, the good times…all that we recall.
Surely, all things take on meaning,
We can see a “Master plan”;
Solid…firm the foundation,
All formed by Father’s hand.
Oh, not the way of the world,
And, no magic wand to wave;
Not the things in romance novels,
Nor what movies have portrayed.
This life that we have lived,
And, the MEMORIES we’ve shared;
Have built a firm foundation,
One that cannot be compared.
Looking back…upon the years,
It’s a very good place to be;
An inner peace emerges,
As His “Master plan”…we can see.
All things truly work together,
Together…for our good;
And, the MEMORIES are precious,
I wouldn’t trade one…if I could!
