PRAY THE PROMISE

Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

************

Pray the promise…not the problem,
That’s where our focus is to be;
Why grovel in the misery around us,
It’s His will for us to be free.

With our focus on the problem,
Our prayers show little hope;
Nothing will ever change,
This way…we cannot cope.

For what we speak comes back to us,
And that…abundantly;
Our choice to make…daily,
To be bound…or set free.

Speak the promise in His Word,
What does He have to say?
Line-up with the Word of God,
These words of ‘life’…pray.

By His Word…all things were created,
What He speaks…He brings to pass;
His Word is positive…uplifting,
Purest gold and never brass.

How can Father bless us,
When our prayers show lack of faith?
No belief in what He’s spoken,
His very Words…we erase.

Hasn’t He been always faithful,
To His spoken and written Word?
It’s we…who doubt Him,
Take Him off His throne…as Lord.

When Jesus prayed,
Each and every time;
He said, “It is written…”,
And, with the Word…aligned.

With our focus on the problem,
Our eyes can’t be on our Lord;
There isn’t a thing He cannot change,
Because…He is God!

Have faith in His promises,
Each and every one;
Pray yourself a blessing,
Line-up with His Word and it is done.

Then, remember to be thankful,
Offer Him all the praise;
For it’s He who has blessed us,
He deserves all the glory…all the praise!
