Galatians 5:19 “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Have you ever made the decision,
“I think I’ll go out and SIN today.”
We may not put it into words,
Our actions speak louder than the things we say.

Sin lies just around the corner,
Always there…around the bend;
The “tempter’ always with us,
But, his time has come to an end.

It’s our choice to make,
Each and every day;
Whether to listen to his lies,
Or agree with what the Bible says.

The works of the flesh,
And, they are many…not just a few;
Their end is not very pretty,
But, still our choice…with what we do.

Don’t say you have no control,
“The devil made me do it.”
Jesus was tempted in all areas,
Did He sin?…No, not for a minute.

He said, “It is written…”,
That’s what we need to do;
Line our lives up with the Word of God,
The answer…so very true.

And, as we get into His Word,
Many other things we shall see;
We’re kept by the power of God,
Not in our own strength can we be.

Identify with all the Bible says,
Claim it as His promise to you;
Every promise in the Word,
Every promise there is true.

While in this flesh are we,
Still a “treasure” dwells within;
We can call upon His Spirit,
And, by His grace be free from sin.

Break the hold it has upon you,
From its grasp be set free;
The works of the flesh are many,
Controlled by the flesh…we need not be.

Its power has been broken,
At the Cross…it lost its hold;
Because of Christ Jesus’ sacrifice,
Against all that is sin…we can be bold!*

*1 John 2:16 “For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
